Step 1: Schedule Your Remote Expert Session with Ape
Preparation begins before you even plug into the vehicle. You will first want to coordinate a dedicated time with an expert who has the specific OE software access your vehicle requires.

Step 2: Vehicle and Scan Tool Prep
A stable connection is the backbone of successful remote module programming. Follow these physical setup requirements carefully before launching the app:
- Ignition Setup: Turn the vehicle’s Accessory mode ON. The vehicle must stay awake for the duration of the session. If you encounter issues with the vehicle automatically turning off, engage the hazard lights to force the system to stay awake. If communication ever drops mid-session, check the vehicle's ignition status first.
- Battery Support: Programming drains voltage quickly. Connect a reliable battery maintainer for all Remote Expert sessions to prevent voltage drops.
- Hardwired Internet Connection: A standard wireless signal is not enough for remote module flashing. You must establish a stable, wired connection. Connect your Autel scan tool to the vehicle via the OBD cable, connect your MaxiFlash VCI/VCMI via a USB cable to the tablet, and connect a USB Ethernet Adapter paired with an Ethernet cable directly to the tablet to connect it to your network.
- Requirements Checklist: Ensure you have an active Autel subscription, the latest version of the OS management program, and a fully updated MaxiFlash VCI/VCMI and tablet (MaxiSys Ultra, MS919, or MS909).

Step 3: Pre-Scan, Clear Codes, and Post-Scan
This specific scan workflow must be completed and saved before the Remote Expert connects. Failing to complete this step will stall the process, as the expert relies on these reports to see underlying issues.
- 3A. Pre-Scan: With the ignition ON, run a full system scan (Topology Report). Review the results carefully for any red modules, network/CAN irregularities, or unexpected DTCs that could block calibration. Save this Pre-Scan Report.
- 3B. Clear All DTCs: Tap "Clear DTCs" and allow all vehicle modules to completely clear their commands.
- 3C. Key Cycle & Post-Scan: Perform a full key cycle (turn the ignition completely OFF, wait 5–10 seconds, and turn it back ON). Run a second full system scan and save the Post-Scan Report.

Once your Post-Scan is finalized and saved, reach out immediately to your assigned Ape Remote Expert via the channel established during scheduling (phone or text). This ensures your on-site team and the remote expert are completely synchronized before pushing the connection live.

Step 5: Access the Remote Expert Platform
There are two seamless ways to launch the software on your Autel device:
- Method 1 (From the Post-Scan Page): If you are still looking at your scan results, simply tap the Remote Expert button located on the bottom-left of your screen.

- Method 2 (From the Tablet Home Screen): If you backed out of the scan workflow, go back to the tablet's Home screen, open the standalone Remote Expert app, and start a new session.

Step 6: Select Your Connection Type (Crucial Step!)
When initiating the order, you will be presented with two distinct routing methods on the Autel screen:
- Direct Connection (USE THIS): This option connects you directly to your pre-assigned Ape expert and is required for all Avizion sessions. Choosing this generates a unique 6-digit Order Code on your screen. Copy this code and text/send it immediately to your assigned Ape expert so they can grab your vehicle's queue.

- Marketplace (DO NOT USE): This option releases your ticket to an open marketplace of unrelated, unverified third-party providers. This path is not supported for your dedicated Ape workflow. Always choose Direct Connection.

Step 7: Monitor the Live Connection
After passing the code to your expert, your tablet will transition to the live Order Details / Connection Screen.
This dashboard allows you to monitor critical information in real-time, including network latency trends (a value under 20 ms is recommended), live vehicle voltage, and device connection statuses. When the screen updates to show that data is sending and receiving, your expert is officially connected! Stay with the vehicle, keep an eye on the battery maintainer, and follow any live instructions text or called in by your expert until the programming is finalized.

Connecting to the Marketplace
Follow these instructions if you wish to release your order to the Marketplace:

- Enter Phone Number: Input your personal phone number, ensuring the correct country code (e.g., +1) is selected so an expert can contact you.
- Provide Your Name: Enter your name or company name (e.g., "Avizion Glass") into the designated field.
- Select Your Device: Ensure your specific device or VIN-associated identifier is populated and selected.
- Enter VIN: Type in the vehicle's unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or use the barcode scanner icon to capture it.
- Submit the Request: Review the terms, and click the blue Submit button to release the order to the marketplace.
